Customise vet handouts your way with Cetra for Vets’ new personalisation features
Clear, consistent communication with pet owners is a vital part of veterinary care. That’s why at Cetra for Vets, we work hard to ensure every handout contains accurate, easy-to-understand information that supports pet owners long after the consultation ends.
However, we also understand that every veterinary professional explains conditions differently, and no two consultations are ever the same. What works for one vet, nurse, or practice may not work for another and that’s exactly why we’ve introduced our new handout personalisation features.
Built from veterinary feedback
If you’re part of the Cetra for Vets community, you’ll know that user feedback is at the heart of everything we do. Every new feature is shaped by real-world insights from veterinary professionals using the platform every day.
One of the most common requests we received was simple but powerful:
“Can I tweak the wording on handouts to match how I explain things to pet owners?”
We loved this idea!
The result is a fully customisable pet owner education system, where expert-reviewed information is already there, but you can adapt, expand, and personalise it to perfectly align with your own communication style and each individual patient.
How can Cetra for Vets handouts be customised?
With our new personalisation tools, you can now add your own text directly to any Cetra for Vets handout.
This is ideal if you want to include additional advice specific to a pet, reinforce the verbal instructions given during the consultation, or explain a condition in a way that better suits a particular pet owner.
For example, if Fluffy the cat has been diagnosed with Feline Ear Mites and needs ear drops applied to the left ear only, you can share our Feline Ear Mites handout and add a clear instruction such as: “Please apply the drops to Fluffy’s left ear only.”
You can even reword explanations if a pet owner is struggling to understand a condition, ensuring the written information matches what made sense to them during the consultation.
Edit or remove existing Cetra content
Every case is different, and now your handouts can reflect that.
With Cetra’s personalisation feature, you can:

Remove sentences that aren’t relevant to a specific case
Keep handouts concise and focused on what matters for that pet
This ensures pet owners only receive information that applies to their animal, helping improve understanding and compliance.
Personalise handouts with the pet’s name
Personalisation goes a long way in improving client engagement. You can now add the pet’s name directly into Cetra handouts, reassuring owners that the information has been tailored specifically for their animal. This small but powerful detail encourages pet owners to read the handout more carefully, reinforces trust and professionalism, and shows that you have gone the extra mile in caring for their pet.
Annotate handouts with the Whiteboard feature
Our whiteboard feature works seamlessly alongside handout personalisation, allowing you to fully customise both text and visuals.
Using the whiteboard, you can:
Draw directly onto anatomical illustrations
Highlight injuries, affected areas, or treatment sites
Circle or label key anatomical structures
This is especially helpful when explaining complex conditions, treatment plans, or anatomy, making your advice clearer, more visual, and easier to remember.
Save and assign customised handouts to patients
Any edits you make to our handouts can be saved to your personal workspace. This allows you to go back in later on and make any changes or use that handout during future consultations.
As well as this any edited handouts can be assigned and sent to pet owners directly after making the edits. This can either be to a new pet owner who’s details you can fill in just before you share the handout or it can be an existing pet owner who is already in your personal clinic workspace.
It is so simple all you need to do is:
1. Select your handout or diagram
2. Make your edits via the customisation tools
3. Save any edits you have made to your workspace, or allocate the handout to a patient under your clinic workspace
4. Send it in any way you like - print, WhatsApp, SMS, unique link or email
Print personalised veterinary handouts
Introducing the ability to add a patient’s name to handouts has also unlocked a new way to share information with pet owners. In addition to sending Cetra handouts via text message, email, WhatsApp, or a unique link, you can now print handouts for patients to take home after their consultation.
This is particularly useful for pet owners who are less confident with technology, as they are given all the information they need in a physical format, rather than having to locate an email or text later on.
